The 1992 Wild Card NFL set was issued in two series of 250 and 210 cards. Allegedly the first series production run was limited to 30,000 ten-box numbered foil cases. One hundred "case cards" and one thousand box cards were randomly inserted into the foil packs. Also cards from the Red Hot Rookie set were inserted in the packs. Through a mail-in offer, the surprise card could be exchanged for a four-card cello pack featuring a Barry Sanders (with first series Surprise Card 1) or Emmitt Smith (with second series Surprise Card 251) Stat Smasher foil card, a Red Hot Rookie card, a Field Force card, and either a silver or gold Field Force card.
